Squash Intro - What and Why?
Did you know that squash is being added to the Olympics in 2028!
Here are a few reasons why squash is great!
It is consistently ranked among the world’s healthiest sports: Cardiovascular endurance; Strength; Flexibility; Balance; Agility
Time-efficient workouts: A 45-minute squash match delivers a full-body workout that rivals much longer gym sessions.
Calorie Burn: Squash can burn up to 900 calories per hour
Strength Training: Engages multiple muscle groups throughout the body with its dynamic nature
Releasing Stress: A great outlet for stress relief because nothing is better than hitting a ball against a wall!
An Activity for Everyone: For all ages and levels, it is an accessible platform for physical fitness, mental stimulation, and social interaction.
Great for your Heart: Squash provides a vigorous cardiovascular workout, strengthening the heart.
An All Year Round Sport: Whether it is a winter storm or a heat wave, the squash courts are open and ready!
Squash promotes Community & Social Value: It encourages sportsmanship, mentorship, and cross-generational play, builds tight-knit communities that extend beyond the court, and supports mental health through intense, social, stress-relieving exercise.

The Universal Squash Rating (USR) connects all players through a global network of match results. The USR allows all players—regardless of age, gender, or location—to track their improvement over time, find other players of similar skill level, and be connected across the squash community.
A player’s USR is a long-term measure of their level of play, which adjusts daily based on any match result entered into Club Locker. Players gain a USR by recording at least one win and one loss on their Club Locker profile, whether that is through a tournament, league, ladder, or friendly match.
For more information or questions about Rating System please visit: https://ussquash.org/ratings
